The selection process is subject to rules and regulations issued by Railway Board, Ministry of Railways ( Government of India) which includes reservation of jobs for Schedule caste (SC), Schedule Tribes (ST), other backward classes (OBC), Ex Servicemens etc.
Employment Notifications calling for applications from eligible candidates are published in local News Papers Employment news / Rojgar samachar and an indicative advertisement is published in local news papers.
The time period given to apply in response to notifications is not less than 30 days. The applications received in the time period prescribed are scrutinized with reference to criteria published in the notification.
Schedule of Written / On-line examination is also published in News papers and employment news / Rojgar samachar. Eligible candidates are informed of their date and center of their examination by call letters.
List of Candidates successful in the examination is published in the newspapers, internet and successful candidates are also advised by post.
Candidates declared successful in Written / On-line examination are called for Aptitude test / Type Test / Documents verification / Interviews etc.
Viva-voce test (interviews) have been eliminated in most of RRB examinations w.e.f. 18.3.99. To see procedure which is applicable for the selections of various categories of posts click here.
Final Panel is then formed as per merit, requirement and final result is published in Employment news / Rojgar samachar and intimation letters are sent to successful candidates advising them - their allotted Railways / Zone.

ALP & TECHNICIAN POSTS SECOND STAGE COMPUTER BASED TEST ( CBT)
The Application fee refund transaction initiated by the RRBs is still under progress and is likely to be completed for all candidates by 20-12-18. Accordingly, the link for correction of Bank Account details for the candidates whose refund transaction has failed will be live from 21-12-18.
Candidates may pl note, The website address of RRB Allahabad has changed from "www.rrbald.nic.in" to "rrbald.gov.in." or "rrbald.nic.in
CEN1/2018 Attention candidates
Few candidates have reported that due to slow speed of application page of CEN 01/2018- (Assistant Loco Pilot- ALP & Technician), they could not register or make the payment on 30.03.2018. These reports are being looked into. In the mean while, the online payment gateway for CEN1/2018 shall remain open on 31.03.2018 also till 22.00hrs.
Special Notice on Exam language for CEN No. 2/2018
Candidates who have submitted application before 10.00 hrs. on
19.02.2018 and could not choose the exam language of their choice
like Malayalam etc. can modify their exam language by selecting

Several candidates are approaching various RRBs and Railway Board through phone calls, SMSs, e-mails and other social media platforms enquiring about the likely date of results of NTPC (Graduate) Examinations against CEN-03/2015.
It may be noted that the Typing Skill Test and Aptitude Test has been held in Computer Based Test mode for the first time in history of Indian Railways on 29/06/2017 and 30/06/2017 respectively. The results are being scrutinized critically and are being processed and will have to be interpolated with the results of 2nd Stage CBT for formation of merit for calling candidates for document verification.
The list of shortlisted candidates for verification of documents and genuineness of candidature along with scheduled dates is likely to be ready by 1st week of August, 2017.
Candidates are again advised to keep on visiting the authentic RRBs’ websites at regular intervals for the updates in this regard.
